Summer Intern, Cross Function

THE OPPORTUNITY / OVERVIEW
Global Prairie is looking for high energy and high impact individuals to join our Global Prairie team as a member of our summer intern class for 2019. In this role, you’ll work across our nine offices to use your talents to help drive marketing as a force for good – all while working for a 100% employee-owned company.

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill internship. You’ll be working with our other interns and team members across the globe to work with our clients who make a positive impact on the world.  And we’ll expose you to our own global mindset by bringing all our summer interns around the globe to Kansas City during your first week to cement your intern team dynamic.

The Global Prairie Summer Internship Program is a 9-week program, running from June 3 through August 2, 2019.

As a Global Prairie intern, you will partner with our Global Prairie team to support the innovation creation, flawless implementation and successful management of our clients’ businesses. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Working across our teams and all our nine Global Prairie offices, this individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, such as:

  • Assist Global Prairie team members in development of client project needs from start to finish
  • Develop skill set in strategy, creative development, social media management, earned media outreach, internal communication, and much more
  • Solve problems through existing knowledge, research and analysis
  • Coordinate activities and office functionality of home-base office

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS OR MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Junior, senior or recent graduate from a four-year college or university, or graduate student between their first and second years of business school
  • Enthusiastic, bright self-starters with a proven track record of working as part of a high-performing team
  • Stellar academic performance
  • At least one prior internship experience
  • Must display willingness to jump in and work hard
  • Exceptional planning, coordination and communication (verbal and written) skills

  • A link to a 1-2 minute video telling us about yourself and why you want to be an intern at Global Prairie (enter the URL to your video in the Website, Blog or Portfolio text field portion of the application).  Here are a few suggested tips to keep in mind while developing your video:
  1. You don’t have to be a wizard in iMovie or any other video program. The content of the video is what’s most important. Bonus points for creative ways to bring it to life!
  2. Be creative! We want to see your personality and your passion. Think of ideas outside the box that include more than just recording yourself talking on camera for two minutes.
  3. Upload the video to Vimeo, YouTube, or another video sharing platform and paste the link in the "website, blog or portfolio" field.
  4. Double check that your video is public. If you make it private, we will not be able to access or view the video.
  5. Check your surroundings! Make sure they are appropriate and a good reflection of yourself and your professionalism.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS
The physical activity required of this position includes standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, talking, hearing and use of repetitive motion.  Light work is required of this position, occasionally lifting or moving objects between 10-20 pounds.  The visual acuity of this position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle.  This position will not be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
